Admission Process Print

Families interested in pursuing admission to Aylett Country Day School should follow these guidelines:

  • Schedule an appointment to tour the school and discuss Aylett's program and mission.
  • Submit completed application form and fee.
  • Take transcript request and reference form to current school for processing.
  • If applying to Early Childhood three, four or five schedule a 1½ to 2 hour classroom visit and teacher observation.

If applying to Kindergarten, schedule a one-half day classroom visit and teacher observation and a second appointment for a reading evaluation.Applicants must be five years old on or before September 1 for the year they enter kindergarten.

If applying to grades one through eight, schedule a full day classroom visit and WISC testing. Applicants to grades two through eight must also complete a writing sample during the classroom visit.

The Head of School will then:

  • Review testing results, academic records and reference forms from previous school.
  • Schedule an appointment with parents to discuss testing results.
  • Notify parents in writing concerning the application Aylett Country Day School admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, financial aid program, and athletic and other school administered programs.
