Plan to take the family out for dinner on Tuesday, January 29!  Families and friends are invited to NNB in Tappahannock for Patriot Night!  NNB will donate 10% of total sales for the entire day if patrons indicate they are there to support ACDS.  This will be a great time of fellowship and food after our home basketball games on the 29th!

Our middle school students will be taking exams and tests next week, January, 16 – 18.  ALL middle school students will dismiss at NOON, so please make note of this.  If lunch has been ordered, he/she can get it to go.  An exam schedule has been emailed to all parents.

The Class of 2019 is selling quarts of our famous ACDS chili for Super Bowl weekend.  The cost is $10 per quart and order forms will be coming home this week.  Please have all forms and money returned to school by Monday, January 28. All chili will be available for pickup on Saturday, February 2, from 1 - 3 p.m., in the ACDS cafeteria. Just in time for your party weekend.  Checks should be made payable to ACDS Class of 2019.  For questions or more information, contact Jeans or Derrick Owens at 804-445-6086 or the school office.

Thank you to Robbie Pitts for grading our parking lot.  He is always here to clear the snow and sidewalks too.  We appreciate his time and talents too!

School closings due to inclement weather or other reasons will be announced via WizardPhone and on radio stations WRAR-105.5 and WNNT-100.9, as well as on NBC Channel 12.  Please note that due to taped programming on local radio stations, school closings made after 6pm are not announced until the following morning at 6am.  Information will also be posted on the school’s website at www.acdspatriots.net and on the ACDS Facebook and Instagram page.

  1. If snowstorms occur during the day, please tune in to these stations to hear closing announcement.  A WizardPhone message will also be sent out.
  2. If the school is closed during the day because of weather, the buses will follow the Emergency Bus Routes.
  3. Opening school on days when we must run an Emergency Bus Route is always a calculated risk.  Please put safety first when deciding whether or not to meet a bus or bring your child to school.
